Veteran KBC Journalist Badi Muhsin Is Dead

Renowned Kenya Broadcasting cooperation (KBC) Swahili news presenter Badi Muhsin has today afternoon passed away in Mombasa county.

The celebrated journalist who was known for his Kiswahili news show dubbed Dira ya Dunia on KBC died in his home after taking lunch and complained that he was not feeling well.

Sources close to the family say the renowned anchor went to take a nap but he never woke up.

The 67-year-old who had a surgery to remove stones in his kidney in 2020, had gone to Mombasa to do an interview for his Saturday show.

Muhsin worked for KBC since 1980 and retired in 2002. However, he made a comeback to the same national broadcaster this year.

He was gifted with the Order of the Grand warrior (OGW) award for his long service in Media, by retired head of state Mwai Kibaki in 2011.

Muhsin will be remembered for his exemplary performance in Swahili news translation and presentation, where he was recognized by a couple of Swahili writers like Wallah Bin Wallah.
