"Reach Out To People," Gospel Singer Sends Timely Message To The Church

The purpose of Gospel Ministry is not only in reaching out to many people but touching the very souls with the word of God. Serving the will and purpose of God is very important mission.

While speaking at Pamoja FM Radio in Kibra today, Gospel artist Margaret Waithera known as Maggie Praise by stage name reveals that her desire is to touch people with the message of God through gospel music.

"My start wasn't a walk in the park. I suffered from endometriosis until I lost hope. I underwent several transfusions and surgeries, she said."My last surgery was in November 2016, and I lost some of my body organs but God provided a turnaround," said the upcoming artist from Laini Saba in Kibra. The singer added that at that point some of her friends deserted her.

At such a time of sorrows, Maggie narrated," I came to realise that in life there is acceptance and rejection and that is when I turned to God and he heard my prayers. I just prayed to God before sleeping with no hope of waking up the following day," said the motor vehicle mechanic who due to the health condition left the profession.

"My healing process started when I started having a positive mind and after the 2016 surgery God has seen me through and I glorify His Holy name."

After that time, she recorded her first hit 'Tumaini Langu' in praise and worship of God. "It wasn't easy. Even my people did not believe. They only did believe after seeing my first album."

For a successful ministry, she highlighted that, "We ought to serve according to the will of God. Be zealous of touching people with the word of God."

Another key point in success in the gospel ministry requires one to seek first the kingdom of God and it's righteousness then God will provide the rest. Maggie says she has been living under that verse in her ministry and God has always remained faithful.

"Challenges are ever there. Don't lose hope. Be strong knowing that there is God who called you into the ministry."

She challenged gospel artists to seek intervention from God concerning their music ministry and emphasized that the songs should be a revelation from God.

Like many other artists, Maggie is also affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. They cannot meet in churches, crusades or concerts. "Our main work as artists is to pass the message to gatherings," Maggie stated, adding "For now we cannot assemble in churches and even sell our music. It is a great challenge. We are missing our source of income and blessings." To her advantage, she has established business.

In order to reach out to her audience, Maggie has resolved to use of social media platforms. Maggie started gospel ministry in 2915 and released her first album in 2019. She has a vision of being an international minister.
