Peer pressure isn't only a problem with the adolescents but it's a big issue even with the adults.
Many people struggle in life because of the bad decisions they made as their peers cheered them on.
Actress and radio personality Jacqueline 'Wilbroda' Nyaminde knows this one very well herself being a victim of negative peer influence.
Speaking to heads up, Nyaminde revealed how her fake friends almost ruined her life when she was deep into drinking.
She explained that the so called friends could always cheer her on as she bought them alcohol leading to emptying of her coffers.
She now warns whoever that cares to listen aggainst hanging out with friends whose work is only praising you.
“When you are at your peak you get different friends, a new crew checks in and it’s a crew that just praises you. If you ever have a friend who praises you all the time, that is not a friend.
Those were the kind of friends that I had and we would sit and drink, sometimes I was the one who would foot the bills and they would praise me.
It got to a point where I depleted my bank limit and eventually got into debt. That was the kind of life that I was living at that time,” said Wilbroda as quoted by Sunday Standard.
Nevertheless, there is this day that Jacqueline decided to call herself to a meeting and did a lot of introspection.
For the sake of her son and herself, she decided to put a top to drinking for two years and that is how all her fake friends took off.
Jacqueline is a TV actress, singer and a radio personality who is popular for her role in Papa shirandula where she played the wife of the late Charles bukeko alias Papa shirandula.
