Barack and Michelle Obama are immensely proud of his daughters Malia and Sasha, who are both thriving having moved to Los Angeles.
When they were young, the renowned couple reared their children in the White House, but they were careful to keep them and themselves grounded despite the extraordinary circumstances.
While the Obama siblings are occasionally seen in public in Los Angeles, they are rarely seen on social media and neither of them has a public account.
In contrast, Michelle posted a picture of her entire family to Instagram during a forest outing earlier this year.
The shot was really realistic and it seemed like any other family spending a day out together outside with nature.
Michelle had shared the photo for a special occasion, as it coincided with the April premiere of Barack’s television series, Our Great National Parks.
In her letter, she stated: “My wife and I have been blessed with the opportunity to introduce our daughters to some of the wonders of the natural world as they have grown up.
“Obama hopes you’ll join in the fun this time by watching his new Netflix series, Our Great National Parks, produced by @HigherGroundMedia.
“Whether you’re visiting a national park or taking a walk around your neighborhood, there’s so much out there to explore.
“We hope the show motivates you to take a journey outdoors. Participate in the #WildForAll Challenge over at WildForAll.org if you do. Really looking forward to hearing all about it!
Several admirers chimed in to express their delight at seeing the happy family unit in action, with one adding, “Such a gorgeous family!” A third person chipped in, “Happy to see your family and the girls.”
The Obamas are a very close-knit family.
Both of Michelle and Barack’s daughters have relocated to Los Angeles, where they are based with their respective families, while their parents remain in Washington, D.C.
In an early interview with Al Roker on Today, Barack discussed his family life
