The writer got to visit the Elmolo tribe on the beaches of Lake Turkana during her recent adventure, and on her way back across the lake, the boat owner allegedly made a move on her. Muli claims that the besotted man expressed his wish to marry her as a second wife.
The mother of two revealed that the man admitted to being married, but that he wanted to take her on as his second wife because he owns the yacht they were on.
Her recent expedition was a trip to the Elmolo, where she discovered something new about the community. They are mostly Catholics, according to Muli, but they still hold traditional African beliefs. “The Emolo believe that their God resides in water. Because they always prayed towards the sea, all of their hut doors face the water,” she wrote in part.
