According to Ann Waiguru, William Ruto's choice of running partner is independent of the party or any Jubilee group. According to Waiguru, Ruto informed them that the responsibility for selecting a deputy should be left entirely to him.
Waiguru stated during a live radio broadcast that while she would be pleased if the party settled on a woman as a deputy, the quest for a woman remains the senior deputy president's priority. This, she claims, was agreed upon by the party, and that it would be up to him to select.
She also lauded Mudab's decision to collaborate with UDA, stating that the collaboration was long overdue and has helped create a more accurate image of the reality on the ground. She is optimistic that Ruto will prevail when the results are out in 2022.
