
ODM leader Raila Odinga and his Azimio La Umoja campaign team could be in trouble after Kenyan afro-pop music band Sauti Sol threatened to take legal action against them for copyright infringement.
This is after the Azimio La Umoja campaign team used part of Sauti Sol's hit song 'Extravaganza' while announcing the nomination of Martha Karua as Raila's running mate.
Through a statement posted on their verified Twitter handle, Sauti Sol accused Raila Odinga's campaign team of fragrantly disregarding their basic and fundamental rights to property and freedom of association.

In the statement, dated May 26, 2022, Sauti Sol vowed to sue Raila and the Azimio La Umoja campaign team.
"We shall be seeking legal remedy for this clear violation of our copyright," read part of Sauti Sol's statement.
If found guilty, Raila's campaign team risks paying huge sums of money as fines and penalties for copyright infringement.
