In an interview wich Mejja Genge was speaking to Simulizi Sauti he was heard saying that he wrote the 'Utawezana' Song by himself and just looked for Femi to sing with him as he was planning to sing both the male and female part of the song.
In the blog written by Nairobi Gossip Club Mejja thinks that the blog site is getting biased and should listen to the whole part of the interview. Gossip Club wrote;"Mejja during an interview with Simulizi Sauti Revealed he wrote the whole 'Utawezana' Song. Utawezana nilikuwa nayo, nilikuwa part ya boy na dem. Femi one alikuwa anainga studio anarepeat Chenye nasema"
Mejja respond saying" Jamaa Wacha kuedit story ndo ikae kama Niko na noma na femi, Listen to the whole interview hii kuedit ndio story ikuwe tamu haifai kujaribu kuanza mambo mahali hkuna you can think that's all I said it was a long conversation shukran kaa rada ya edits juu inamiss guide watu. Ndio I wrote the song but this is not what all I said is just part of a long conversation. They edit the part they want you to hear, kaa rada shukran"
