Renowned Akorino gospel singer and emcee Karangu Muraya has finally broken silence after he was dragged into the Ksh 1 billion Lesedi land scam. For the better part of today, pressure has been mounting on Karangu to give his side of the story since he was among the Kikuyu celebrities hired to market the company.
The company even sponsored his lavish trip to Dubai. Karangu has admitted that he invested and influenced for Lesedi Group. However, he denied that he conspired with the company's director to con Kenyans.
Karangu alleged that he has called the company's director and urged him to prepare a meeting with all the investors whose titles have been delayed. He claims that the meeting is underway.
Karangu promised investors that no one will lose their hard-earned cash. He further sent apologies to his fans and promised to stand will all the investors, adding that they will either get their title deeds or be refunded their money.
Lesedi company was exposed by Daily Nation for reportedly defrauding investors. According to Nation, investors lost Ksh 1 billion in the scam.
Some of the investors stormed Lesedi offices last week and demanded to be refunded their money. The matter has since been reported to the DCI.
