Majority of Kenyans listen to Patanisho, me being one of them and I'm not ashamed. Some say they don't care how bad their relationship is, they can never call a radio station for advice. However, that doesn't change the fact that Patanisho is, by all accounts one of the most popular segments on radio in Kenya. The brains behind the segment is, musician-turned-journalist Gidi Gidi and former Harambee Stars coach Jacob 'Ghost' Mulee though Patanisho was Gidi's original idea.
Gidi real name is Joseph Ogidi Oyoo. He is a presenter at radio Jambo morning show ‘Patanisho’ alongside his co-host Jacob Ghost Mulee. Gidi has attracted a huge number of viewers of the station making him be ranked among the top radio presenter in the country.
It is hard to guess he grew up in the the sheng-dominated area Dandora slums. Growing up he crafted a name for himself as one of the best vernacular rappers.
He will be turning 42 years this year,2021. Gidi attended Aquinas High school and later joined Strathmore University where he graduated with Masters of Business Administration.
Well, apart from media, Gidi is a family man who is happily married to Ziva Elijah who works in France and lives with their daughter Mari-rose Hera Ogidi who was born in 2016. Even though the presenter's wife stays away, the distance does not affect their relationship as they visit each other from time to time.
