If you area fan of Kikuyu gospel music you must have come across Simon Ben at some point. He is a Social Media influencer and a renown Kikuyu gospel musician who has moved from grass to fame through hard work and determination within the shortest period of time.
Some hours ago he posted on his Facebook page warning musicians and churches reproducing his songs to earn money on YouTube or by any other mean without his consent. According to him, he said any song he originally sang is protected by copyright laws.
He added that most of the songs were sang before many were born and from yesterday if you have recorded any of his songs without his consent you should talk to him or else by 18 February 2022 things will be different. He went ahead and gave an example of songs which has been recorded by people without his consent.
He concluded by saying that his silence didn't mean that they are right where they are selling the songs via YouTube and other avenues.
