Jeff Mwaura Kionange was born on 7 January 1966.He was born in Banana, Kiambu County.

Education;

He schooled in Kings borough Community College in Brooklyn which happens to be in New York.He graduated with an Associate degree.He also attended New York University and received Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism degree.

Media Career;

He hosts Jeff Koinange Live commonly called JK Live since February 2017 on Citizen TV. He is also a radio presenter and hosts another radio show Hot 96 together with Professor Hamo.The show is owned by Royal Media Services.

He's a judge representing Kenya in East Africa's Got Talent which started in 4 August 2019.He hosts alongside Vanessa Mdee,Gaetano Kagwa and Makeda.

Jeff Koinange had worked with KTN between 1987 and 1989.He has ever served as the Africa correspondent for CNN and CNN International from 2001 to 2007.He has also been a chief reporter at K24 TV station from 2007 to December 2012.He had worked as Chief Anchor Africa for Arise Television Limited based in Johannesburg.
