Revealed: This is the Most Popular Radio Station in Kenya

According to a Geopoll survey, Kenyans prefer to listen to Swahili radio programs than English radio shows.

For the third year in a row, Radio Citizen is the most popular station in the country, with a 10 percent market share, according to the survey.

Radio Jambo, another Swahili station, comes in second with an 8.6 percent market share.

At number three, Classic 105 is the top-rated English station.

Radio Africa Group affiliates Radio Jambo and Classic as sister stations.

Maina Kageni, Kenya's most popular radio host and one of, if not the best-paid radio personality, calls Classic home.

He co-hosts the morning show with comedian Mwalimu Kingangi.

Meanwhile, Radio Maisha is in fourth place in the popularity poll, ahead of Kiss FM, Milele FM, and NRG Radio, in that order.

Radio Citizen is popular with listeners in the mornings and evenings, according to the research, which is an excellent feat.

Radio Maisha and Classic are the second and third most popular morning radios, respectively.

At the night, Radio Jambo and Kiss FM have large audiences.

NRG Radio, Kiss FM, and Hot 96 are the most popular radio stations among young people aged 15 to 24, while Radio Maisha, Classic, and Radio Jambo are the most popular among those aged 25 to 34.

Vernacular radio stations are preferred by the senior generation (those aged 35 and up).

Radio Citizen and Radio Jambo were necks and neck for daily listenership from 6 am to 10 am, Monday through Saturday, while Milele FM had the most listeners on Sunday during the same period.

Furthermore, between 4 and 8 p.m., Radio Citizen, Radio Jambo, and Classic 105 had the most listeners.
