American comedian Chris Rock slapped in stage at Oscars award

Will Smith hit Chris Rock in the face in front of an audience at the Oscars.ﹰThe comic poked a fun at the entertainer's significant other Jada Pinkett Smith.

Alluding to Pinkett Smith's shaved haircut, Rock said: "Jada, can hardly wait for GI Jane 2."

Smith strolled up in front of an audience and seemed to strike Rock prior to getting back to his seat and yelling: "Keep my significant other's name out of your... mouth."

Smith later apologized in a mournful best entertainer acknowledgment discourse.

"I need to apologize to the Academy. I need to apologize to my all my kindred candidates," Smith said subsequent to winning the principal Oscar of his vocation for playing the dad of tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams in King Richard.
