Celebrated Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz has been mentioned in the ongoing corruption investigations.

President Samia Suluhu Hassan ordered a proper audit of government funds that were released since the year 2021 started.

She gave the order after it was established that some funds had been misused by some agencies.

On Thursday, part of the investigation report was released, which indicated the late President John Pombe Magufuli's government was making huge payment without issuing any receipts to confirm the payment, or making any formal contract for the same

The findings saw Diamond Platnumz's Wasafi media mentioned among other media houses that were rewarded huge amount of money, but without any contract.

Diamond's Wasafi was given a tender worth Tsh140 million, where the singer together with other WCB Wasafi singers were to market and popularize tourism in Tanzania, particularly key regions such as Mwanza, Dodoma, Iringa among other.

His radio and tv stations were also required to advertise the same events for a fee.

However, there was no any contract that was signed between Diamond Platnumz and the tourism ministry.
