Citizen TV Presenters bids Emotional farewell to their Colleague who did his last show on Saturday

After anchoring sports news for 13 years at Citizen TV, sports Journalist Bernard Ndong has now called it a day.

On Saturday night, June 25, Ndong did his last broadcast at the Royal media services' station and later bid farewell to his colleagues.

He was was also surprised by a farewell cake that he received from his colleagues who most of them recounted how he began his work at the Kilimani based TV station.

Citizen TV sports editor Mike Okinyi has revealed that he was the one behind Ndong's sports career in his farewell message.

"It was three weeks of hard training, back and forth and when I sent the clip to our then boss Faridah Karoney, she said I take you for sports. You have developed to be one of the strongest people I have worked with. Farewells are never easy and we wish you all the best," Okinyi stated.

On his part, Citizen TV news presenter Waihiga Mwaura has recounted how his friendship with Ndong' began, when they went for a trip and didn't find a place to sleep. Mwaura narrates how he slept on a table as Ndong' slept on the chair.

Mukami Wambora, the TV's sports Journalist was however quite emotional over Ndong's departure, as she recounted how the Journalist walked her through her journey into the sports industry at the station.

Senior reporter Francis Gachuri also felt something wrong with Ndong's farewell, saying that he will miss him at the corner.

"We are poorer with your departure but we are also happy with your growth, bitter sweet, but the sweet is more than the bitter. Go ye and excel. Go in peace to serve the world," stated Gachuri.
