Why Was Roddy Ricch in Jail

Roddy Ricch is one of the hottest up and coming rappers in the game right now. The 21-year-old rapper from Compton, currently has the number one song in the world right now called “The Box” which features a catchy and melodic hook that has everyone and their dads going crazy for Roddy Ricch. The Box is such a hit right now that it beat out Justin Bieber’s latest song “Yummy” for the number one spot on the charts even after Justin Bieber told his fans about a little trick to inflate his streaming numbers by the millions. But despite all of the success, Roddy Ricch has still found himself on the wrong side of the law.

Roddy Ricch born Rodrick Wayne Moore, JR. claimed to have grown around a lot of gang activities but it wasn't until his mother kicked him out of the house just at 16 years old then he fully became involved in the street life type of lifestyle.

Roddy soon became a member of Crips and began to commit several robberies and sell drugs to support himself. At this point Roddy completely abandoned his therapy classes that he had been attending just to find more time for several crimes around the town.

This behavior went for several years before the law caught up with him when he was first arrested at the age of 18 years old. The details of his arrest are almost none existent but he claimed that he was facing a possible gun charge and he spent a whole week behind the bars before he was able to make bail.

During that week in jail Roddy realizes that the path he was going was not a good one and he decided that he needed to do something positive with his life and this is where music came to place. At first Roddy uses music as a way to address his problems instead of using it to make money, but after hearing all positive feedback he was getting, Roddy began to put time and effort into his rap.

Through the next year Roddy did nothing but sit down and record in various studios in America and eventually release his first single titled 'Feed the Street'. The project put a lot of new eyes on Roddy Ricch and even hard rappers such as Meek Mill.

A few months later Roddy dropped 'Die Young' which brought him incredibly on mainstream media attention and finally signed a record deal with Atlantic Records.

On August 11th 2019 Roddy Ricch and his girlfriend were hanging out in his Los Angeles home when a verbal argument broke up and soon escalated to a physical argument. Police then showed up to Roddy's home and asked both parties what happened. After listening to both sides the police confirmed that both of them needed medical attention and Roddy had to be arrested for domestic violence. Roddy later posted $50,000 bail and was released. Several weeks later all his criminal charges were dropped for lack of evidence.
