Sony Music recording artist VINKA today has released her first single since taking a maternity break. She returns with an Afro dance pop track titled “Thank God” produced by Tanzanian producer Lizer from Wasafi Records.
After enjoying massive success with chart topping hits, Vinka has become household name on the music scene. Vinka took a break off Music to embrace her new journey of motherhood with her new bundle of joy.
The song has been released with beautiful visuals shot by Swangz Avenue Film and directed by Marvin Musoke. The video features youthful dancers from Kampala Pentecostal Church (KPC) clad in white choir gowns and bright pink suites. Other scenes of the video were shot in an actual church reinforcing the gratitude message in the song.
Veronica Luggya, who operates under the moniker Vinka, is a Ugandan Afropop and dancehall singer who parlayed her career as a dancer and artist manager into music stardom. Emerging in 2017 with the singles "Level" and "Stylo," Vinka found international success in 2019 after teaming up with Romanian superstar Inna for the single "Bebe."
Born and raised in Kampala, Vinka used her dual love of music and dance to land work as a dancer for regional artists like Maurice Kirya, Cindy, and Jackie Chandiru. She later graduated from Makerere University where she spent her free time interning at Swangz Avenue, a popular Ugandan entertainment company.
