The King of Soukus Aurlus Mabele is Dead

Born in Brazzaville Congo in 1953 Aurlus Mabele hit the airwaves in the 1980s after founding the famous Loketo Boys.Hits by this band climbed charts not only in Africa but also the outside world. With more than 30 years in the music career Mabele together with his music partner Diblo Dibala sold more than 10 million records across the globe.

Mabele passed on in France due to complications rising from the new corona virus a stroke he suffered in 2005 and a a throat tumor which he has been battling for 15 years. The novel corona virus which has claimed the lives of more than 7,500 people across the globe is said to hit hard on the elderly and those with other health complications. He was admitted in a hospital in France.

Aurlus hit the charts with Embargo and Loketo hit songs.The Afro pop star died at the age of 67. Mabele revolutionized Soukus music by making fast dance moves and attire the centre of the Soukus in Loketo band songs.

The session singer became one of the first Paris based soukus stars setting the starndard with several80s LPs.He was a top session musician and toured extensively in the west.

"My sadness is great tonight but my gratitude is more. You were the pace, you were joy, you were the kindness. Forever. Go in peace Aurlus Mabelle. I know auntie Nzambi has already welcomed you in her great mercy,” Wrote his nephew on a facebook post.

Loketo boys which broke up a few years after its formation housed Aurlus Mabele,Mav Cacharel and guitarist Diblo Dibala.
