Nyota Ndogo hails from Mombasa county herbal name is Mwanaisha Abdalla, is the queen of Taarab. She was born in 1981 so guess how old she is, she is a mother of two, a boy and a girl. Her father Abdalla Atib was a musician with a local band.
Nyota Ndogo has released four albums: Chereko, Nimetoka Mbali Mpenzi and "Mama Wakambo". She has won many awards in the music industry like the best female singer, the best taarab singer that’s why we have called her the queen of Taarab. Among many other awards and nominations.
She has travelled the world, representing Kenya musically, she has travelled to Germany, South Africa, Zanzibar, East African Countries and Comoros. She once worked at Baraka Fm as a radio presenter, a station based in Mombasa. She was also a judge in the Tusker project fame. We know her well when we hear the song ‘Kuna watu na Viatu duniani, Kuna watu wasiopenda maendeleo...’.
She has two children, she said recently that she had always wanted to have another baby but it seems God had not made that possible and that she is going to wait to hold her grandchildren.
