Kenya afro-pop music band, Sauti Sol recently threatened to sue Raila Odinga's Azimio La Umoja Coalition for using their song without their consent. The Raila Odinga's team played Sauti Sol's song ''Extravaganza" in the background during an event where they unveiled NARC party leader Martha Karua as Raila's running mate on Monday.
This has sparked a debate among Kenyans as others are siding with the boy band for protecting their copyrights while they have also lost upto to 2k subscribers on YouTube for those who are opposing.
Well, Sauti Sol have every right to sue Raila Odinga's team for using their song without their permission as it is copyrights infringement & is punishable by law in Kenya. The famous band have carried the Kenyan name in Africa & the world in general, with their good music & they have won numerous awards for their accomplishments in the music industry.
Should Sauti Sol sue Raila's team for Copyright infringement ? Kindly like, share & comment your opinions below.
