Today, we will be talking about a lady who faked to be suffering from cancer to raise money for her wedding. I know it's everyone's wish to having the best wedding which is unique and stunning. Now, when we are stuck we seek help from our friends but at times we asked for money from people in the wrong way. In 2017, 29 years old Toni Standen created a page called GoFundMe where she posted a photo with a long description about her health status. She described that she had two months to live because she had been diagnosed with cancer. Toni managed to convince everyone from her family members to friends that she was really sick. Before her wedding day, Toni had collected over eleven thousand dollars. Below is a screenshot of her post. As the saying goes, the days of a thief are numbered and one day Toni's fortieth day came. Her lies become unrealistic when she said that the cancer had speared to other parts of her body, that is brain cancer, bone cancer among others. Her close friends opposed her statements forcing Toni to say the true. She confessed that she had been lying to the so as to achieve her dream wedding. In her confession statement, Toni said that at that minute she didn't know if Jim and her would get divorced but she won't blame him if he does. She added that she didn't blame her friends if that was the end. Unfortunately, Toni's father had succumbed to cancer few days before her wedding. Toni was charged with five months imprisonment by the Chester Magistrate's Court for the fraud she did. Also, she returned two thousand and seven hundred dollars donated by a local business.
