After Victor Chege went missing, his friend Steve Jomo took his phone and started impersonating him.
Jomo texted Chege's mother, pretending to be Victor, and started asking for money. He even joined the family's WhatsApp group.
However, Chege was last week found dead, and Jomo is now in in custody and he was arraigned in court yesterday, Monday, January 16, and accused of impersonation, and extortion as the phone he was using belonged to a man who has since been found dead.
Netizens reacts:
๐๐ก๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ: He is the main suspect and the motive is already known. With a friend like this you don't need an enemy.
๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐๐ข: In the rate in which people are being betrayed by friends is alarming, trust is dead and buried, wherever you're, ,treat everyone like a suspect,or keep your instincts very alive and working, betrayal is overtaking enemity.
๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ: Our friends we used to go to school with and party with are dying.๐It's really sad how much our peers are dying ๐
