After Raila Odinga settled on Martha wangari Karua as his running mate, they used Sauti sol song ‘Extravaganza’ in their celebrations. As a result sauti sol music artists claimed that azimio la umoja raila odinga did not have any permission to use their song saying they are not in Azimio.
They therefore threatened to sue raila Odinga over copyright issues. ODM party replied to them saying they only used the sing becouse they love their content. They added that they have publicized them since they are international artists. The board of music led by Ezekiel Mutua said sauti sol does not need to be payed anything since it was a normal music being played.
Due to Sauti sol threatening to sue Raila Odinga it has appeared to be a loss to them by loosing followers and subscribers. Through Nairobi gossip club they have posted saying the music artists have lost 2000 YouTube subscribers so far where they had 905k and now they have 903k subscribers. What is your view on this?.
