He was admitted to the hospital last week after suffering a mild stroke on the left side of his body.
His wife, Nahida Ahmed, said Bargash suffered a mild stroke while he was waiting for his colleague at the Lamu House Hotel on Tuesday evening.
“He collapsed and got severe injuries on the head," said Ms Ahmed.
The renowned journalist died hours after he was transferred to Bumu Hospital.
Many who took to social media sites expressed their deepest condolences to the family of the famous Journalist.
A huge number named him as a selfless man who had the good will of Lamu residents at heart.
Journalists across the devide mourned him as they showered him with praise for his kind heart and amazing skills at work.
