ODM-Jubilee Ties in Limbo As ODM Threatens Jubilee After Bonchari Drama

If the remarks of Orange Party Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna are to be believed, the Bonchari by-election may be the beginning of the end for ODM-Jubilee relations.

Sifuna told KTN News on Tuesday that it's time to revisit their relationship with Jubilee to determine whether it's real or not.

To prevent arrest by police, Sifuna says he's been forced to play a cat-and-mouse game with Kisii Woman Representative Janet Ong'era.

He claims that the two can't openly oversee the by-election and that officers have surrounded a Kisii hotel where party treasurer Timothy Bosire stayed the night.

He claims the officers intend to apprehend Bosire, who he claims hasn't done anything wrong.

The SG has threatened to sever relations with Jubilee in the wake of alleged police bullying, abuse, and arrests of ODM officials and agents in Bonchari.

“If things keep going this way, we'll have to reconsider our relationship with Jubilee to see if it's real or not," he said.

The ODM SG stated that working with a group that is sabotaging them with state resources is no longer viable.

" We want an equal playground for all contestants. We will not accept to be in partnership with parties such as Jubilee yet they are the ones using state resources to undermine us," he added.
