Ngumbau tv has was officially launched in a colorful event attended by gospel and Benga musicians such as Justina Syokau, Maima, Vuusya Ungu, Bosco Mulwa and Kasolo and was held at Kyumbi gardens in Machakos county. The tv channels adds to the number of free to air tv channels in the region. 
Among other existing channels which Ngumbau tv will be competing with include: Mutongoi tv, Mumo tv and Kamba tv. The focus on contemporary issues places the channel in a better position to thrive and make a difference. The channel is available on signet free to air platform.
