Karun, or rather Karungari Mungai, has been on trend lately because of her interesting sound. She recently affirmed her dissatisfaction with the Kenyan music industry, saying it is yet to support fully artists to prosper and sharpen their talents.
This Kenya’s pop and R&B singer expressed her dismay in an interview on The Singleton Stories with the famed Kenyan storyteller Biko Zulu. Isn't it important to express how you feel however difficult it may be?
Miss Karun, who has been in the music industry for over 10 years, has always set trends with her hit songs such as ‘Just Friend’ featuring Kahush The Artist and ‘Catch A Vibe’. Reason being that her music often exemplifies some recent life lessons, while the sounds and production always reflect the energy she wants to create.
Keeping her going is her adorable son Prince Mungai Kiwango, 4, whose dad is Joseph Kiwango who was part of Cosmic Homies, her music group. With such a combination of genes, no doubt the son will also be an artist.
Other than being a singer and a songwriter, the Afrima Awards Nominee (Best Female Artist East Africa) has such a stunning beauty that symbolizes power and energy. She is more confident on the stage when performing live and this is why she will remain among the top thriving artists in Africa. See her photos below.
