Veteran Kikuyu singer Muigai Wa Njoroge has been dragged into the Ksh 1 billion Lesedi land scam that was reportedly executed by the company's director Geoffrey Kiragu. Muigai was hired to market the company on his social media platforms.
He has been vigorously advertising land sold by the real estate firm, which later turned out to be a scam. After the multi-million scam was exposed by a local daily, he was forced to come out and release a statement.
He pleaded innocence and promised that he will ensure all those who were duped by the company get their money back. Renowned blogger Martha Mwihaki Hinga has hailed Muigai's move.
Martha hopes that the celebrated singer will walk the talk and ensure that every victim gets back their money. She advised Muigai to hire a lawyer to represent the victims when the matter ends up in court since some of the victims have already reported to the DCI.
Martha further urged Muthee Kiengei, Karangu Muraya, and other Kikuyu celebrities who were paid by Lesedi developers for marketing purposes to come out and give a statement if they were not part of the scam.
Below is what Martha posted after Muigai gave a statement on the land scam.
