Popular Kikuyu Tv Channel Taken Off Air By Communications Authority Of Kenya.

Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) has today ordered the shutdown of Mt.Kenya Tv from midday Wednesday April, 28th due to compliances issues.

This is after the station aired a film dubbed "Free Jimmy" an animation which showed explicit scenes during children's programming hours. The film agitated anger and uproar amongst parents who demanded closure of the station.

According to statement released by CAK, the media house has been directed to ensure that all of its employees undergo authentication process by the Media Council of Kenya and provide proof of compliance in a week's time.

"The authority has directed Mt. Kenya Tv Channel to go off air from midday today for a minimum of four weeks, within which time the license shall put in place appropriate safeguards compliance with it's license terms and conditions. The station shall only go back on air after the authority confirms that it has complied with all the current and outstanding compliances issues," read part of CAK's statement.
