Judge approves Kanye’s request for name change to “the most commonly used word in the Bible”

Rapper Kanye Omari West has finally been granted his heart desire as a Los Angeles judge just approved his request for a name change from his popularly known name to “Ye” which he considers the “most commonly used word in the Bible;” joining other musicians who changed their names along their career years. However, his name change is very unique due to its origin and how it transforms his formal identity.

When the request was made in two months ago, many people thought it was the usual stuff as that was not the first time the rapper teased the public about a decision to change his name. Remember that, Kanye Mark Wilson in the year 2019, that he contemplated on changing his name to “Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West” but this did not happen.

This time around, Ye is a reality, sealed legally. The name approval simply implies that, the “Jesus Walks” rapper will no longer have a Surname or a middle name. When asked in an interview to respond with reasons for choosing that particular name, Kanye said “I believe ‘ye’ is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means you. So I’m you, I’m us, it’s us.”

The popular musician did not provide enough detail on the decision to change his name from Kanye West which is known to many to the new Ye. However, he stated in an earlier interview that the change is for “personal reasons.”

Throwing more light on the decision in a separate interview, the rapper revealed that, the explanation to his name Kanye is the “only you.” According to him, the name “went from Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye; just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, everything;”

The rapper’s name change follows precedes his much-awaited DONDA album. In terms of show business, this will generate or add to the attention drawn to the release as hopes keep rising in expectation of a spectacular music treat.
