Francis Macharia alias Odi wa Murang'a is a Kenyan artist and songwriter. Odi is a member of Boondocks gang which is among the most popular gengetone group. This gang comprises of three members who includes Odi wa Murang'a, Maddox and Exray where they have been rumoured to split.
In an exclusive interview today with Mungai Eve, Odi revealed that the outbreak of COVID-19 paralyzed their musical group since they could not perform anymore due to lockdown. However, they did not split since they have done several collabos with his fellows. He cleared this because Maddox has been trending in the social media indicating that boondocks split because Odi wa Murang'a and Exray wanted to focus on their solo music projects and left him struggling on his own. He has later apologized in one of the interviews with presenter Ali for blaming his fellows. Odi seemed to loose his brand after he stopped dying his hair pink.
Odi indicated that boondocks still exists and they have composed a few songs in which they are planning to shoot the video and release them. He also blamed VDJ Jones for trying to clout chase using Maddox's situation and allegedly accusing him of drug abuse. Odi revealed that they used to make a lot of money after performing but his fellows never saved enough to retain themselves in case of emergency.
During the interview, Odi has cleared the air on his current businesses which include tomato and livestock farming, Mugithi songs performances due to his passion in Kikuyu songs. He is also running the Odi studios (unimax Music) alongside producer Dommie Deal. Being an introvert, he has kept his love life private but he has finally revealed that his girlfriend is expecting twins in less than two months. Odi expressed his worries as a first time dad.
