Veteran Kikuyu gospel singer Muigai Wa Njoroge has been forced to clear the air after he was accused of being used by the owners of Lesedi Developers to defraud investors. Muigai is among the popular Kikuyu artists who were hired to market the company.
He has been using his social media pages to market plots that were allegedly being sold by the real estate company. It later turned out to be a scam.
Muigai said he has seen the countless posts of people urging him to speak about the scam and said he will ensure all the victims get justice. He said it doesn't matter how much he was paid by the company if at all they did not honour the agreement with the investors.
'' I will rise to demand justice for my followers who through me trusted the company/individual,'' he wrote on his official Facebook page. The Nation disclosed that Lesedi Developers Director Geoffrey Kiragu reportedly defrauded investors Ksh 1 Billion.
Those who bought land through the company have neither received the titles. They realized they have been conned after parting with the money.
Some of the investors who reportedly asked for their money back were issued with bouncing cheques. The matter has since been reported to the DCI.
