Popular Kikuyu gospel musician Dennis Mutara has been thrown into mourning following the death of his mother.
The passing on of Mutara's mum was announced on Saturday night by his friend and colleague Karangu Muraya.
"Sorry to my brother Dennis mutara for loosing your mum....may Jehovah comfort you bro," Muraya posted on Facebook.

Mutara's mother was a resident and a farmer at Maragua Ridge village in Maragua constituency, Murang'a county. The cause of her death is yet to be established.
The musician has been going through a rough time noting the death of her mother comes barely a year after he left hospital where he was admitted for 3 months after he suffered depression.

In 2020, Mutara was involved in a grisly road accident near Maragua town that left him nursing serious injuries.
After the accident, it was his mum who was taking care of him as he opted to stay in the village while recuperating instead of returning to Nairobi to his wife and kids.

Mutara is best known for his hit songs "Tigana na Andu", "Ngai He Kuiganira" among other inspirational tracks which helps people to hold on to God.
His fans stormed the social media to send their condolences and pray for him and his family to get strength through this difficult period.
"May the good Lord give you peace during this trying moment my brother. May her soul rest in eternal peace," said Grace Muhia.
