Fired TV anchor now a Matatu tout in Nairobi

Robert Ouma Former Switch TV news anchor,lost his job in December 2021. However, Robert Ouma did not just sit down and wait for a job from heaven. To him money is all sweet it doesnt matter whether he works in a office or not. He therefore sought a another job and now works as a matatu tout. Ouma became jobless after Switch TV declared tgat they would stop content broadcasting on TV. As a result many lost their jobs.

He has been posting several videos on his Instagram page and explains that a honest living is what matters. He is now working as a tout in a PSVs vehicle operating the Rongai route. He is the cleanest tout in town.

"An office is just a name, let's work. Tout of the week. Rongai massive," he stated in one of his Instagram posts.

In a different video he said “I’m about to close work for the day…one should strive to do what they can because this is the situation. An office is just a name and the money is just as sweet.”

However, he still claims to be searching for another media opportunity despite working as his menial job. Switch TV shifted to digital broadcasting in December 10 th, this marks an essential change in their financial strategies.

The chairman of the Media group,Sahil Shah, declared that it would cease broadcasting Live on air to digital marketing comencing from 2022. This company is owned by Kenya Red Cross Society.

"In character with our core philosophy of being responsive to the needs of the youth and with the ambition to become the go-to media platform for the emerging generation, Switch Media has made a conscious decision to build a new strategy around being digital-first," Shah said.
