The collaboration between Tanzanian singer Rayvanny and Kenyan musician Queen Marie J, real name Marie Njoroge, allegedly fell through because Rayvanny allegedly broke the terms of their contract.

Marie J said that she spoke with Rayvanny over WhatsApp and that he agreed to cooperate with her to help her advance her career.
She further alleged that Rayvanny frequently asked her for money, which she usually gave him, only for him to subsequently vanish without a trace.

She stated that the 2020 release date was originally planned for the partnership with the former Wasafi Records signee.
She claimed that Rayvanny eventually blocked her on all platforms and offered her simply the explanation that "kuna mambo yametokea"—without any further explanation—leaving the initiative in limbo.
However, Queen Marie J is still hopeful that the project she is working on with Rayvanny will succeed; she claims that although his prior record company may have strangled it, now that he has left and is on his own, they may be able to revive it.
