
The Kikuyu artists and the mugithi fans have lost famous musicians. The Kikuyu community is among the largest vernacular group in Kenya. It is also the community which have produced a lot of music artists both in the gospel sector and the secular sector.

The late Joseph Kamaru and the late Mama Julia Lucy are among the Kikuyu music pioneers in Kenya. The mugithi fraternity have lost popular artists over a period of years.

Queen Jane is one of them , salim junior ,mighty salim, john Demathew, Murimi wa kahalf and recenty the fraternity lost a mugithi musician known as murithi John walker. Muriithi John walker is the artist who sang 'nyau iriaga mbia' and Murimi wa kahalf who sang 'ino ni momo' are said to have some common similarities.

The two artists are said to both sing mugithi songs. Apart from that they come from kirinyaga county . Finally they come from the same sub county known as gishugu . May their soul continue resting in peace . Amen.
