Dorcas Omenda is dead.
Until her death on Sunday night, Omenda was the morning show Presenter at Nganyi Ranet Media Services owned Anyole FM.
Anyole FM broadcasts in Kinyore, one of the over 10 Luhya community dialects.
In a phone interview on Monday morning, the Station’s Operations Manager Yonah Mandu informed this writer that Omenda had been sick for only six days, before she succumbed.
“She was admitted at Masaba Hospital in neighboring Kisumu County after complaining of chest pains,” he said.
Omenda was the Station’s morning show host since 2014. The show runs from 5am to 10am daily.

“She was a very jovial and down to earth person. We will surely miss her,” Yonah said emotionally.
The National Super Alliance (NASA) Western Region Coordinator Khalid Njiraini termed the late Dorcas Omenda as a friend and talented journalist who was very articulate in Kinyore.
“It is a big loss to us the Banyore community and the journalists’ fraternity in Western. May God comfort her family at this difficult time,” added the NASA Coordinator.
Dorcas Omenda leaves behind three children.
