Former Tahidi High actor, Carol Mwaura who also happens to be a gospel musician have caused an online uproar after she narrated what she went through while in Lebanon where she had gone for greener pastures.
Narrating her story to Mt. Kenya Tv, Carol revealed that she was employed as a house manager. At first, her employer was good and treated her well. Later, he changed and started molesting her, to an extent of denying her meals.
In the course of knowing her fate, Carol learnt that she had been sold as a slave to her employer. This made the employer to confine her in the house where she worked with no pay. One day when cleaning the house, she found a corpse which had been hidden in a secretive room by her employer. This made the employer very angry, prompting him to start sexual advances on her, and at the same time threatening him.
To make sure that she complied to the demands, her employer denied her food and water. This left her desperate for food since she secretly collected leftovers from the dustbin. At times, hunger would make her reach out for flowers and leaves outside the house using a broom, which she also used as food.
When the flowers and leaves became unreachable, hunger and thirst made her drink the water from the toilet cistern. She also used the water from the toilet to soften the tissue paper which she used as her food for several weeks.
However, she was lucky to escape with no injuries after jumping from the second floor of the house to escape the wrath of her employer. This became the basis of her exit from Lebanon into Kenya where she lives to-date.
