Judge Ian is known all over East Africa, he became famous from Tusker Project Fame which was all about singing. In the program, he was a judge together with his colleague judges. His judging skills had harshness comments that disappointed many contestants and "killed" their hopes of proceeding to the higher levels.
The program show was sponsored by East African Breweries Limited who pulled out leading to the end of the program. Many people lost judge Ian's presence when the program stopped.
Judge Ian is currently teaching music and drama at brookhouse international school, this is according to his past Engage Talk. He is also in charge of managing the school's theater. His presence in Brookhouse has resulted in drama and music excelling.
Judge Ian has a beautiful family, a wife known as Naomi Mbugua and three children; Wambui, Mbogua and Jeremy. He is also a grandpa, he often posts his granddaughter on social media.
