Why Rachel Ruto Mentioned Cyprine Nyakundi, Akinyi & Kivuva as She Spoke in Nairobi Today (VIDEO)

Her Excellency the First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto has made a short but brilliant speech after taking her first bicycle ride as First Lady from State House to Karura Forest.

Speaking in Nairobi after the completion of the ride dubbed "MAMA CYCLING AWARENESS RIDE" that brought together several cyclists across the country, the First Lady recognized a few women who she said have made a great impact in the cycling community.

"Allow me recognize a few women who have made a mark in the cycling community," Rachel Ruto said before mentioning the names.

Among those recognized by the First Lady was Ms Alice Kivuva. Mama Rachel revealed that Kivuva placed Kenya on the global scene for her Five Star Brand that most cyclists where.

She also recognized Cyprine Nyakundi and her team for creating awareness for the cyclists and the need for motorists to share the road.

Also mentioned by the First Lady for making a great mark in the industry was team Amani and cyclist Nancy Akinyi.

"Let me recognize team Amani for unlocking international opportunities for local cyclists, Nancy Akinyi for bravely defining the odds by battling it out on those dusty gravel roads. Well done Nancy," the First Lady said.

Mama Rachel also mentioned Cycling Academy in Iten Town. She said that it was commendable welcoming to state such an initiative in Kenya.

"Cycling Academy in Iten is a very commendable and welcoming initiative," she said.

FL Rachel also reminded that their is need to plant tress while cycling, revealing that her office has plans in place to plant millions of trees before 2030.
