"These Were My Mum's Last Words to Me," Popular Mugithi Artist Reveals

It is usually a difficult moment when you lose someone who is very close to you especially a parent or a relative. It is even more difficult when the death occurs sudden with less expectations. It takes a long time before accepting the situation and moving on with life.

This is the same situation that faced one of the upcoming popular Mugithi artist, Anthony Kamau, who is commonly known as Tony Young. The musician who is still a university student at Maasai Mara has revealed his last moments with his mother before she passed on.

Speaking in one of the entertainment shows, Tony Young, recalled how her mother made a call to him while still at school and jokingly asked him if he had married without informing her.

"I remember that last night when my mum called. We were very close and we could talk anything even cracking some jokes. She jokingly asked me if I had married when still at school without telling her. She went ahead to tell me that she knows how university students marry at school and keep it private. I responded to her that I had not married and she told me when I get a partner I should inform her," narrated Tony.

Tony says that those were the last words from his mother. The next morning he received the shocking news of the passing of his mum who had suffered a short illness that night after their conversation.

The musician says that their bond was very strong because he is the only son in their family. The rest are ladies. According to Tony, he took a long time before healing and accepting to move on.

Tony is the musician behind the latest hit called 'kaba kimama'. He has hinted that he will be making a tour abroad to perform this song. Click here to watch the full interview.
