Juliet Mutua, is the only surviving sister from the 11 members of the same family who drowned in River Enziu on Saturday afternoon.
She got lucky after going back to pick her facemask in a personal car while the bus went ahead to cross swollen River Enziu.
Juliet emotionally narrated during the memorial mass service at Mwingi seminary that while watching her sisters die in the river, she felt so much pain that she wanted to throw herself into the river.
In honour of her late sisters, Juliet gathered every bit of strength and rushed to the shopping center to buy lesos to cover the bodies of her sisters and their babies which had been retrieved from the river by divers.
Juliet says that prior to the wedding, their father had a heart problem and after getting healed, he said that the only gift he could give to his family for supporting him was renewing the vows with their mother.
