It was in Citizen TV's Papa Shirandula where he earned his stage name Jalang'o and later he shortened to 'Jalas'.
He began his career in the year 2004 where he worked as a radio presenter where alongside veteran media personality Caroline Mutoko. He then transitioned to Radio Maisha in 2012, after which he later moved on to Hot 96 FM in 2017 till 2018 when he moved to Radio Milele. In July 2020, Jalas went back to where he began his radio career as a morning presenter at Kiss 100. Currently, his co-presenter is Kamene Goro.
In one of the follow-up post Today on Tuko.co.ke, It said that Jalang'o posted the following on his Instagram page “Invest in your wife because when you go broke, it's her who will feed who will feed you, not the boys. If you invest in your girlfriend, if you go broke, she will leave you. From how this Nairobi is set, no girlfriend wants to be with a broke nigga”. He added his wife is the keyboard.
