Catalina Gichane is famously known as njeri in a popular show called 'Ithaga riene' which is aired on a Kikuyu channel Inooro tv. She acts as a nossy nanny who is always minding other people's business and gossiping.
She was born and raised in Machakos county. Many years ago Njeri's father passed on due to motor neuron disease. She remained with her mother.
She narrated how her father passed on. She was to be transferred to Machakos Tetu girls boarding from Muslim primary school. She deliberately failed the interview since she never wanted to go away from her sick father. Everyone was disappointed but they would not do anything.
One day she fake disease and said she would not go to school since she wanted to stay with her sick father. Later that day njeri and her mother took her father and brought him to the sitting room to watch the television. Then he started having difficulties in breathing and he passed on.
Njeri is the mother of one handsome boy called Jabali.
