It is always the role of the teachers to implement the curriculum through teaching the students in schools.Incase they mess up,then the future of the students can be oblique. This means that the teachers must always get sufficient trainings whenever changes are there.
The Government has always trained teachers to acquint themselves with the changes.Every holiday, teachers get trained in the new CBC curriculum. The latest Remote Learning Methodologies trainings came in handy for teachers with knowledge in Information Technology.
The Teachers Service Commission has surprisingly announced refresher courses for the teachers during the holidays. The sad thing is that it is these modules that will guide in promotions of teachers. The teachers aged 50 years and above together with those who are soon retiring have been caught in a fix.
TSC has identified Kenyatta University,Riara University,Mount Kenya University and KEMI to conduct the trainings. The teachers will be rigorously trained in 5 modules of different sections and get Certificates.Seeimingly, all will not be well for teachers who will fail consecutively.
The teachers approaching their retirement ages are normally tired and such courses that will need a lot of technological trainings will not auger well with them.It will also be tiresome for this group of teachers to go and camp in these universities every holiday for three to four weeks in the name of trainings and exams in order to get certificates for future promotions.Indeed this group is now left in dilemma due to this rigorous looming training.
