The Teachers Service Commission is responsible in dealing with all aspects pertaining to Teachers. Teachers in Kenya now recieve good news from the Kenya National Assembly. The National Assembly has now made recommendations that Teachers who have attained higher qualifications while in service are likely to be promoted.
The Kenya National Teachers Pressure Group Spokesperson Mrs Martha Omollo petitioned the Parliament of Kenya to compel the Teachers Service Commission to offer promotions to Teachers who have acquired diplomas, first Degrees, masters degrees and also masters degrees while in service.
This is good news to the teachers who have the qualifications. In addition, Members of Parliament from various parts of the country agreed that the Promotions will be in accordance with UNESCO/ILO recommendations of the 1966 that codify intellectual rights of teacher who undertake and conclude relevant in courses. The courses will be given which will guarantee Teachers promotions in various places.
