TSC Asks All Public Teachers To Renew Their Certificates

The board in charge teachers employment Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has made a very important announcement to all public teachers after informing them that they are now required to update their detail.

According to StarKenyans, Teachers in public schools will now be required to renew their professional certificates after every five years.

The teachers, in a new policy, will now be required to undertake in-service professional training lasting for five years upon which they will get their certificates renewed.

The professional development will run for 30 years and has six modules each lasting five years, teachers will be required to pay training fee of ksh. 6, 000. As reported by the source, TSC chief executive Nancy Macharia revealed that the process is after professionalizing the teaching fraternity to match other professions like law and engInstitute.

Amongst the institutions that are set to offer the training includes, Kenyatta University, Mount Kenya University, Riara and Kenya Education Management Institute
