Kenya National Union of Teachers and the teaching fraternity are in grief this Sunday morning after Ali Abdi Hussein reported to have died. Hussein was Deputy National Treasurer for KNUT. He has died at Nairobi Hospital after suffering from covid 19 related symptoms.
Kenya National Union of Teachers General Secretary Mr. Oyuu has confirmed the death of Hussein saying that it is tragic. Oyuu says that Ali Abdi Hussein died today at 8.00 a.m. He described Hussein as a dedicated, hard working, compassionate leader who was loved by KNUT and all teachers.
He says that Hussein has left a gap which is irreplaceable. Teachers across the country have sent messages of condolences to the family of Hussein saying that his demise has hit hard the union. They say that Abdi was in the fore front fighting for their rights and therefore they have been left like orphans.
The Teachers Service Commission boss Dr. Nancy Macharia has expressed sigh of grief saying that Hussein was a cooperative leader.
