Many parents who has their children in private institutions are facing difficult times looking for alternative schools since some of the private institutions were converted into different facilities.
Most of the schools were turned to business ventures during the last lockdown. A school in Kusumu, Highway Secondary School, was converted into a medical centre (photo below by Eve Woman)
One of the owners of such institutions in Nakuru, Joseph Chege, turned Bright Light Girls High School into a Mattress factory. According to The Standard Digital's Eve Woman, Joseph informed parents via a notice in May and did consultations with the Ministry of Education before coming to that consensus.
Parents who had children in private schools have been urged to find alternative institutions that they'll get the students into. It's a big blow to such parents who may not have the perfect opportunity to find the best school for their kids.
